Hi there! My name is Melissa and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Melissa, the designer behind Woods and Wool. I am a wife, maker, and lover of the outdoors. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was young, and the craft has stayed close to my heart. As a designer, maker, and human, my goal is the same: to inspire, spread positivity, and share the joy of creating with others.
Woods and Wool began on a trip to northern Michigan. It was a sunny fall day as my husband, Austin, drove down a winding road through a canopy of trees. It was at that moment the words woods and wool came to mind, and the rest is history. As you may have guessed, we love the outdoors – Our dream is to live in the woods with an alpaca farm someday.
Here on the blog, you’ll find the stories behind my patterns and all of my favorite things – from my favorite hooks to my favorite books of the year. Most of all, what I hope you find on my little corner of the internet is inspiration and a little piece of the joy of creating.
