Make a Statement Scarf Crochet Pattern

Get ready to make a statement with this new crochet pattern! The Make a Statement Scarf is an ultra cozy, oversized blanket scarf pattern that is a quick and easy project for all levels of crocheters. This pattern has a modern look that is made to stand out, but you’ll want to disappear into this thick and squishy scarf!

When I saw the Hue and Me Collection from Lion Brand launch earlier this fall, it was love at first sight. It felt like the entire knit and crochet community was talking about this new yarn line, because it was THAT good. It’s a bulky (5) weight yarn, which can be hard to find. What really caught my attention with this collection is the color selection. The colors are so on trend and I love all the earth tones and subtle colors that go so well together.

In fact, the colors are so good in this collection that it was hard to pick out which ones to use for this scarf! I spent weeks (literally) rearranging the colors, taking a photo, and sleeping on it. Finally, I picked out six colors that felt right. Sure enough, once I started crocheting this scarf, it came together perfectly.

If you’re looking for a modern, trendy crochet project – you’ll love this pattern!

Choosing the Ultimate Color Palette

The Hue and Me Collection has one of the best color palettes I’ve ever seen in a new yarn release. What makes it special is the way all of the colors go together!

I used the colors: Bellini, Desert, Peacoat, Spicy, Agave, & Cement. The palette I chose has some lights and darks, cool and warm tones, and I love the contrast it gives the finished scarf!

You can follow the same colors I did or mix and match your own. No matter what colors you choose, you can’t go wrong with this collection!

Where to Find This Yarn

When this collection first launched, it sold out everywhere sooo fast! Thankfully, it’s been restocked (and I hope it stays around for a long time). It’s not currently in stores, but you can find it at LionBrand.com and Crochet.com. You can even grab this pattern as a kit from Lion Brand!

You’ll also need a 7mm crochet hook for this pattern.

Perfect for All Skill Levels

This pattern is beginner-friendly and if you’re a visual learner, you’ll love the stitch diagram in the pattern! There’s also an exclusive video tutorial included so you can see how easy it is to carry your yarn in this project.

I designed this pattern with an easy trick so you won’t have a ton of ends to weave in! The yarn is carried throughout each of the 6 color sections, so you won’t have to weave ends after each color change. The video tutorial in the pattern will show you exactly how this is done!

If you’re used to working with lighter yarn weights, this pattern will be a treat because this bulky yarn works up so fast!
